About Ashwood House
Ashwood
House is a 12 bedded facility for people with mild/moderate learning
disabilities situated in an extremely attractive part of Upper Norwood
in south east London.
Since opening in 1996 Ashwood House has forged strong links within
the community with service users being encouraged & supported to access
local vocational, social and educational facilities.
The house itself occupies a prime position within the vicinity of
Norwood, Crystal Palace & Bromley, and therefore enjoys excellent
public transport & rail links.
Ashwood House enjoys being part of a thriving, cosmopolitan community
and its residents are encouraged to access local facilities such as
shops, libraries, parks and sports centres, etc. and several clients
have local employment.
The home has a spacious lounge and dining facilities, a splendid garden,
and single en-suite bedrooms with wash basins.
Accentuating ability
Working individually with clients in providing unconditional supervision,
support and choice, we achieve and maintain a highly professional
standard of care in an environment which encourages residents and
employees to flourish.
Beacon Care embraces a philosophy of accentuating ability and residents
are supported in developing self-help and daily living skills to increase
their independence.
Staff development and training is prioritised as an integral part
of the provision. As well as a commitment to the nationally recognised
NVQ and Investors in People, we regularly commission training in areas
such as Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, First Aid, Sexuality Training
and Awareness, Risk Assessment, Control and Restraint.
Our staff are required to carry out tasks including all aspects of
care and record keeping to the highest specification. We are justifiably
proud of the high morale and low turnover among our staff.
Encouraging growth
We
have built up an excellent reputation as a quality provider of residential
care for adults with a learning disability who may also display challenging
behaviour. Registration reports, which are all available for review,
emphasise the high standard of care, physical surroundings and professionalism
of the home.
We welcome referrals on behalf of adults with a learning disability
who require residential care. The service is needs-led and we carefully
consider the viability of referrals in relation to meeting a client’s
needs. |
