Huntsman's
Lodge
About Huntsman's Lodge
Huntsman’s
Lodge is a five-bedded home for people with learning disabilities
and complex needs who may have behaviours that challenge.
The home is an exciting project for very special people. Commissioned
in 2003, the home provides an environment to an exceedingly high standard.
The home is situated in Leicester close to local community facilities
and has excellent links with local health and social services departments.
Huntsman’s Lodge provides 24-hour care tailored to meet the holistic
needs of the service users who are encouraged and supported in community-based
programmes including day care facilities and colleges along with a
variety of home-based activities. Service users’ needs are continually
assessed and care plans are formulated in partnership with them.
Accentuating ability
Working
individually with clients in providing unconditional supervision,
support and choice, we achieve and maintain a highly professional
standard of care in an environment which encourages residents and
employees to flourish.
Beacon Care embraces a philosophy of accentuating ability and residents
are supported in developing self-help and daily living skills to increase
their independence.
Development and training
Staff development and training is prioritised as an integral part
of the provision. As well as a commitment to the nationally recognised
NVQ and Investors in People, we regularly commission training in areas
such as Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, First Aid, Sexuality Training
and Awareness, Risk Assessment, Control and Restraint.
Our staff are required to carry out tasks including all aspects of
care and record keeping to the highest specification. We are justifiably
proud of the high morale and low turnover among our staff.
We have built up an excellent reputation as a quality provider of
residential care for adults with a learning disability who may also
display challenging behaviour. Registration reports, which are all
available for review, emphasise the high standard of care, physical
surroundings and professionalism of the home.
We welcome referrals on behalf of adults with a learning/physical
disability who require permanent residential care. The service is
needs-led and we carefully consider the viability of referrals in
relation to meeting a client’s needs. |
